Introduction to Decorative Painting (using One Stroke methods)

This is a four week class that teaches you how to care for your brushes, how to double load brushes and how to incorporate lots of different strokes to create your very own masterpiece! On the last day of class, we will paint a canvas for you to take home! (you may bring in your own item to paint but these must be approved by your instructor). NO experience is necessary for Intro to Decorative Painting Classes. In fact, we would prefer if you had zero experience. In the many classes we have taught, there has never been one person that attended that left without being able to paint something that delighted them. Bring your supplies and a great sense of humor because this about relaxing and having a great time!

Kid’s Workshops:

We sporadically have workshops for kids. All kids workshops are are ages 6 and up.

The next class we have we will paint giant gourds just like pumpkins! The kids will also prepare their own pumpkin bread loafs to bring home!

• October 4th, Saturday, From 10AM -12PM
• $35.00 Per Child, includes all supplies, snacks and drinks

We will have another kid’s workshop where we will paint Snowman Cookie jars and decorate cookies to go in the jars as well!

• November 29th, Saturday, From 10AM -12PM
• $35.00 Per Child, includes all supplies, snacks and drinks

Please fill in your application with any allergies your child may have so that we can plan snacks accordingly!

Floorcloth Workshops:

Floorcloth Workshops are chock full of hints, tips and ideas you may use for future projects! We teach you to measure and layout vinyl floorcloths using tapes, stencils and a yard stick. You will paint a small floorcloth that you will take home to seal. We will provide your floorcloths, tapes, stencils and paints. You must provide your own brushes (make sure one of these brushes is at least a 1 1/2” brush), a basin, a number 2 pencil, a yardstick and a great sense of humor! NO experience is required for this class.

Please note, that it is important that you have all your supplies as there are none at the studio for purchase! If you would like drinks and snacks you may bring what you like. We have a refrigrator and a microwave for your use. Also, Floorcloth workshops require you to be on your feet and bending over often, please wear comfortable clothing.

All classes and workshops must be registered for and paid in advance in order to reserve a seat, classes fill up fast. If you cancel within 48 hours of the class, you will be fully refunded. We will also pull together an “impromptu” class if we have enough participants, so if you didn't get the class or workshop you wanted check back!

We also offer during the year Wax Batik painting classes, clay hand building classes, Acrylic Painting Classes and Sewing classes for kids.
